I have four children of my own: one son currently at SRJC, one son with CDF, one son with Forestville Fire Dept, and a daughter working and living out of state. My family has been involved with the soccer program in this area for 16 years, and I served as a board member for 10 of those years. My husband and sons have coached various sports in the area, and we have donated our services and time to many fundraisers {Forestville Youth Park} and functions {The Strawberry Fest} over the years. Currently I am a member of The Hollydale Club, Forestville Youth Park, Guerneville Historical Society, Red Leaf Press, NAEYC, NAFCC, CAEYC, SCCCA, CARES and the local Child Care Union. I attend yearly conferences and workshops and have just completed the process of Re-accreditation.

Because of the quality of our care and service to the needs of our families, this child care earned the Certificate of Commendation Child Care Award from the City of Santa Rosa and I was named Child Care Professional Provider of the Year for a large home child care in 1998 {the last year given}. In 2008 the child care was given the HUGS award for services and improvements beyond standard requirements and for making a difference in so many lives.

I have been involved in the area of child care and development for more than 20 years and am currently enrolled in the Santa Rosa J.C. Teacher’s Administration Certificate program. To date, I have received my AA in Child development, my AA in Social and Behavioral Science, assistant teachers permit, teachers permit, master teachers permit, site supervisor permit and a certificate for working with children in the justice system.

In 2008 our child care was NAFCC approved for accreditation-one of the only Large Family Child Care Homes in Sonoma County to hold this certificate. In 2009 the child care was endorsed as Eco-Friendly through a national program created by the Oregon Environmental Council. Currently, all employees are working with the CARES organization for on going education and stipends.

"Damos-Deurloo Daycare is such a wonderful and nurturing environment. My daughter loves going there and we love that all of the children accept each other as friends and family."
