Everyday should be a new adventure
The child care is geared towards helping children prepare for Kindergarten. Children will actively learn by playing, sharing, and interacting with others throughout their day; reinforcing skills by using manners at such times as meals, and practicing to sit quietly while being attentive during reading, sharing and story times. Children will gain knowledge of songs, rhyming and finger plays, in addition to counting, letter number and color recognition. Emphasis lying on toileting skills, hand washing and dressing of one’s self, in addition to many other daily skills that need to be practiced in order for children to gain autonomy.
The children may also gain knowledge of compassion through the child care environment, including gentle treatment of babies and the animals. We have many enrichment activities- such as fieldtrips, kinder gym, library day, hiking, gardening, music and art. Our outdoor environment is host to many animals that the children are encouraged to interact with, as well as a very large play area to participate in large motor proficiency. Adequate playtime and exploration are important in a child care setting.
Your child is very important to us – Family child care should be an extension of a child’s surroundings. It should be a comfortable place for both parent and child, and a positive experience for all involved. We are constantly working towards being a community of our own. Families making connections to support and inform one and other; showing the children we are all inter-connected.
